Full Journey
RNA Extraction from Cultured Cells
How do we isolate pure, high-quality RNA from cultured cells? This course is a complete learning journey in three stages: Stage 1: The Lecture The principle of RNA extraction as a liquid-phase separation technique How TRIzol reagent lyses cells and breaks down cellular components How the mixture separates into three layers, aqueous, interphase, and organic, and where RNA is found Stage 2: Lab Preparation Preparing the reagents and tools needed for extraction Safe handling of TRIzol and avoiding RNase contamination Stage 3: Hands-On Workshop Performing the extraction step by step: cell lysis, phase separation, RNA precipitation, washing, and dissolving Assessing the quality of the extracted RNA and its readiness for downstream molecular applications such as cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR, qPCR, RNA sequencing, and RNase protection assays
